Subject: Moving Pastures - In The Rain

Moving my cows to a new pasture, and am still learning about all of this.

They are coming from a lower quality pasture, have been supplemented with dry hay and bloat blocks and are going to a nice alfalfa/orchard grass pasture where they will spend the rest of the summer.

Was planning to make the move this Friday, but now there is a chance for rain Saturday afternoon. Would you still make the move?

The alfalfa is mature, but I am trying to avoid bloat at all costs, and I know that rain can increase the chances. They will probably get the dew regardless the first morning that they are out there, so not sure if I’m overthinking it or not..

Should I wait until I have a couple day stretch of dry weather instead of moving and getting rain the next day?

TIA
