South Central MN | Used to be pickles grown here too, until Gedney went bankrupt and the bean counters decided that the grading stations were supposed to do all the washing.
Mom and dad had a 1/2 acre or so for a good while, planted with an old JD plate type planter and rows moved to make wide twin rows so it was easier to hand pick. Used to be a lot of people got pickles from us and canned them, the leftovers went over to the grading station and off to the pickle factory. | |
