S Illinois | Long times of saturated conditions will stunt corn growth so even with the accumulated GDU’s, plant height and leaf emergence will be delayed. Can see that with the waviness appearance fields take on after continued saturation. Haven’t read anything about elongated emergence timing due to saturated conditions but not going to say there isn’t something to that. We just don’t have the soil that allows for emergence following saturated conditions following planting to give anecdotal evidence. Locally if it was saturated enough to slow emergence, the seed would rot first. | |
