Subject: RE: 30x100 silo going up

Bethel, PA
Our custom operator knows there are 5 competitors waiting for our business if he complains about our silos. And they all provide FieldLine blowers and he doesn't. When we started getting him to chop for us, he had an old New Holland chopper with a 4 row head. So that chopper fit well with our silos. Then he got an FX25 with a 6 row head which still worked well with our silos. Now he has a Krone Big X 850 with a 12 row head. It can chop way faster than our blower can take it, but we didn't tell him to get such a big chopper. Our silos are almost too close together to set up 2 blowers. If we got a FieldLine blower and a power unit, we might get close to keeping after. Another customer with a 24x112 silo rented a FieldLine blower once, and the chopper man was really impressed how fast they could blow with it. He said they almost kept after the chopper with just 2 silage boxes. We do some of our own chopping now though.

Fieldline claims the FL440 blower can blow 230 tons per hour with 240 PTO horsepower powering the blower. It's hard for me to believe that, but those blowers sound impressive from the stories I have heard about them.
