I'm in somewhat same situation. My portion goes back about 20 plus years. Employer is no longer. My finance people were started after. Fidelity I had it with initially doesn't have records that go back that far. I did call IRS and they don't have a record that goes back 5 years?? So, really makes me think nothing will happen, as I'm not sure what the amount is etc.
