Subject: RE: Grazing Cover Crops & Continuous Corn

Galena IL
What is so bad about rye cover ahead of corn? I’ve had rye cover ahead of coco on at least some if not all my corn with very good yields. And this year with rain events of 2 - 3 inches in a very short time I’m very satisfied with my rye and no till compared to the amount of soil my neighbors lost.... Dennis

Edit to add
Don’t let the rye get ahead of you. We like to spray it at about 18 to 24 inches. If it gets over 24 inches we still spray but also knock it down with the Deere 2660
