| I chuckle every time I see someone say it is different as we have just had a very profitable period and folks haveplenty of cash.
That is exactly what they said in thelate 70's.
To put the recent price inperspective, cash corn locally was above $3.00. I think around $3.50.
What is $3.00 of 1977 money worth today?
Costs were very low. I wouldn't be suirprised $20 an acre would put in a crop. Some were growing close to 200 bu corn then, many averaged 150.
Recent margins were no where near that. | |
