I think it would be neat to have a silo with an outside ladder next to the chute and have chute doors every 10 feet. But it might make a lot of places for feed to leak from the chute. If you put doors in the outside ladder, you would somehow have to get in the chute to open the doors for the unloader to blow out of.
There are a few guys out there that use a "clean chute". They put a plastic tube inside the chute to keep it clean: https://polydome.com/product/clean-chute-17-x-21-x-9-opening/
I think I also saw something on another website where they have 2 chutes: one for climbing and one right beside it for the feed.
In the winter, I like to be inside the chute, even if it is dirty. |
