Red River Valley | There was some herbicide drift from the neighbors field onto my alfalfa. The herbicide applied was Huskie to some wheat, it drifted onto my alfalfa and is quite evident that it encompassed a large area of the field. The application date was May 30th what is my best option? I was planning on cutting the hay tomorrow June 9th but I am concerned with any of the herbicide residual left in the plant. I sell all of my hay to dairy customers. Huskie is obviously not labeled for alfalfa, the grazing interval for grass or cereal is 25-30 days, for sorghum it is 7 days.
1. Should I cut it and find an alternate market?
2. Does insurance need to get involved? ( I am hoping to avoid this.)
3. Is there nothing to worry about.
Thanks,
Ben | |
