We’ve had about 7 inches of total moisture since Jan 1. Before that we were basicly dry. Soils are loam clay. So at best we have subsoil at 3 feet deep. Corn roots will go up to 6 foot deep. Most of the rains came in 20 to 40 hundredths. Heaviest one was .80. 30 inch corn rows closed the last few days. Planted mid April. With those maps we definitely will need some rains to get us through the season.
