Wabash county,Il | Seems I had a set of triplets yesterday. I had a cow and 2 heifers pent up and @9am we pulled a set of “twin” out of the cow. An hour later there was another calf, presumably from speckled heifer as other one was just starting to push water bag. All morning the speckled heifer paid no attention to any of the calves but the cow with “twins” was doing a fine job cleaning those 3. I also pulled a large calf from the second heifer so I thought I had 4 calves from 3 moms. Turns out when I talked to the morning shift milkers the speckled heifer had already calves with a speckled calf which had been fed and put in the adjacent pen so I had 5 calves from 3 moms.
What’s really crazy is this would be the 3rd set of triplets in 14 months with 2 of the sets being 100% survival.
