Southern IA | Ive always felt ISU's custom rates on hay operations is too low, I sure wont do any of it for what they suggest. I do a few pieces 50/50 and we split the fertilizer 50/50. If he already put fertilizer on, do it 50/50, but he gets enough bales to cover your half of the fertilizer bill. I Do usually take more of the hay for 2,3&4th crops to justify running the equipment. It will vary based on tonnage, There should be some compensation if you have to move all of his hay off the field. | |
