To trick a cow into eating a poor bale you don't put a bale ring over it and it works even better if you set it in a big ditch.
The secret is to trick them into thinking they aren't supposed to have it. Honestly we have taken a bale that they wouldn't eat and ditched it and they cleaned it all up.. eye roll.
