South Central NE | Hey Kagan, we were actually in your area for a week the first weekend of June. We always loved being in the panhandle area. Our grandson was supposed to play in the football all-star game in Scottsbluff but was hit in the head by a discus. The doctor would let him throw at district and state but didn't want him to play football out of caution. He's signed with Doane U to throw so he didn't want to take any chances. We had reservations at Minatare for our camper so we went even though he couldn't play and we skipped the game. Stayed at Sutherland Reservoir 2 nights and hiked all over Ash Hollow on the way to Lake Minatare. Stayed there 3 nights so we could hike Scott's Bluff and Chimney Rock. Then we went to Box Butte Reservoir and camped 2 nights. While there we went to Agate Fossil Beds. Enjoyed the museum and did the hike as well. Drove 385 to Alliance and then hwy 2 to the Kearney area. Always loved the Sandhills.
