Fairbury, NE (Southeast) | Running into a similar issue in this area. Senior Rights out of the river from the 50's and 60's getting shorted from Jr. users over pumping, the window to water is tight. DNR dropped the ball big time the last 15 years, handing out permits with no plan or logical conclusion to the fact that they are over appropriating what water is available. Too many acres, not enough supply. I suspect litigation will be coming. | |
