SE Indiana | Novice question here but I had considered doing a July 24 futures (if things meet my target) and rolling it to Jan 25 for a new crop sale. With jul being 30ish over Jan I thought I would pick up that spread but the merchant I deal with told me I’m thinking backwards. I thought that when rolling into a lower valued future month you gain the spread. Am I wrong?
He also said CGB wouldnt allow rolls from old crop months to new which is a deal breaker in it self. | |
