| Was short of hay one year and baled the neighbors reed canary grass out of the swamp along the creek, 1120 Hesston cut it firn, found one U-post , went thru the haybine, cut the corner off of one old bias tire, walked right thru cutting but got stuck a few times raking and baling, usually pulled my self out with a chain thru the rim and hooke to the achor tractor and held other brake or with diff. lock, got both stuck one time too far apart to reach with a chain, so had to go get help, That was fun, but mixed it in with the bales, but cows did OK, we (cows and I) were happy when it was gone. My thoughts are whenever you bale it has to be as good as corn stalks. Grass probably will be more forgiving then the Alfalfa. | |
