They'll screw it up, obviously depends on the dirt but ground cut for silage, no cover. You'll have a mess to clean up around the feeders, and they'll compact around water and rut up to and from. Plan to work it down with full tillage afterwards but will grow a good crop.

Depending on what you're feeding I'd be nervous about going back with any crops that are hard to control weeds in, corn silage to corn silage is easier to manage. If your dirt isn't very forgiving, trying to harvest a late planted (inevitable on those feeding acres) forage crop off a field under full tillage might be a challenge. Soft ground, ruts up with no structure.
