Subject: RE: dry in ILL

NE Indiana
Crazy wet spring and then the water shut off around late May. Haven't really had any measurable precip since we side dressed corn and sprayed our residual post. Probably going to get pretty weedy if and when it starts raining. Last year we went 45 days without a rain. all of May and then didn't start until mid-June, then got perfect rains all season which equaled a record corn crop. The difference is its 10-15 degrees hotter than last year and it's getting to be late June and still not really any rain in the forecast. We started planting about 2 days early on some of our ground and its starting to show now. Sidewall compaction becomes concrete when it's this hot and dry.
