Subject: RE: Poison Hemlock in brome feild

Im not a expert on hemlock but I do know that grazing animals will eat certain weeds at certain stages of growth and moisture. Also sometimes poison weeds after being sprayed and starting to die will lose the bitterness that tells a animal it is toxic but still remain dangerous. Animals can die from this.

So its possible theoretically depending on what stage it is cut and how hungry the cattle are that they could sort it and be fine sometimes and in other circumstances be harmed or abort calves.

If it where me I would probably bale it to remove the hemlock then spray the regrowth with something containing triclopyr. 12 acres doesn't really seem worth potentially losing cows over or having to worry about it if even if you don't. Plus the chance of spreading seed around your farm and others.
