| Had a calf born that developed a eye infection after it was born. Treated it with la 300 then followed up with Draxxin and also sprayed with veterycin 2x.
Have had more cattle and sheep lose sight temporally from pink eye and other infections than I would like but they have always regained vision in at least 1 eye usually both after treatment. This calf is now totally blind with now little to no hope of recovery.
Usually vision issues progress slowly but this calf who is otherwise very healthy was totally blind within 5 days of being born from infection. Has anyone experienced this? No other animals grazing with it had any eye infections. I am starting to think it was largely a viral infection of some sort, maybe passed down from mom because antibiotics seemed to do nothing.
Would like to figure out the cause incase I encounter it again
