EC SoDak | This year, there is more heat to go with late planting. For instance, I think my late planted in 2019 would’ve been ok. But it stayed cool and frosted early in my area, created lots of low yielding wet corn with light test weights. Then you go 45 miles south, where they didn’t get quite the rain and were warmer, they had pretty decent yields. Always hard to tell, especially pre pollination.
Edit to add- no matter where they peg acres at this week, I think March intentions were a bit low for corn acres.
