Hello fellow David,

We got it all wrapped up.  It was definately worth doing.  We got 200 bales off 40 acres.  We were trying to hurry and wrapped it a lot wetter than would have been ideal.  But we got corn for silage planted before the deadline for insurance. I did not get many photos, but I did get one of the bale hauling tractor we had to resort to.  First time for us using a tracked machine for hauling hay!

It seemed to bale up about like soybean hay.  You had to get it in a bale before the leaves turned to dust - the stems will never dry anyway.  We started out with the chopping knives engaged in the baler, but soon we disengaged them as it was chopping it up so much the bales were not holding their shape and were mushy to handle.

We had a couple of bales with the net torn that we did not wrap, so I fed them over the next few days.  Cattle ate it fine from the TMR.  One of the bales fell apart in the field and the loader guy tossed it over the fence to a field of 200 heifers.  It was gone in about 60 seconds.  I will post feed test results after a month or two of it being wrapped up.
