Profitability per cow does not change very much going bigger. When purchased feed is over half the milk check no matter the size, big herds pay the same for feed.

Here the business model is to rent out the farmland with the agreement the renter has to take the manure and grow X ton corn silage. Focus on the cows.

I don't see how the Midwestern guys cash flow growing their own feed what with the cost of machinery nowadays.




You don't do it without taking care of the equipment and you probably are not buying all new either, big is like rpc is government needs to keep playing field fair for small producer, this nonsense where they are at the mercy of their plant whether they have a market or not is ridiculous.
