Subject: Unrolling Hay on Cornstalks

Gonna be running cows on cornstalks for the first time this winter.

When the stalks are gone, I’m trying to figure out what the best way to feed is.

Has anyone unrolled hay on cornstalks? Or is that a bad idea? They will have plenty of space, not overstocked/crowded in the field, and it will be hit with full tillage in the spring.

Wondering how much the hay will contribute grass/weed pressure for next years crop, anything a little spraying (already do it) won’t take care of?

Thanks.
