Redwood County, MN | I think I've read that if the bottom 3 rows of counties in MN and the upper 3 rows of counties in IA were their own state, it would be #1 production area in the USA. Add in the prime acres in the bottom of WI and the corner of SD and NE and you get a fairly big spot that accounts for tons of production each year.
Not saying we won't have enough corn with the current situation, but some perspective is needed when these areas are being referred to as fringe. | |
