I like to turn the tank off and burn the propane out of the lines so it's not pressurized all of the time.
I get what your saying........about leaving pressure on the lines to avoid tripping the safety. But if you just turn the tank back on really slow...........it's usually not an issue. And just seems safer over all to me anyway.
