Central Tx | I visited Argentina last in 2008, not an organized tour, we had ridden motorcycles from here to there.
We took a one day self organized bus tour from BA to San Antonio de Areco, to Lujan, and back to BA in a day. While waiting for the bus from Areco to Lujan, a couple in shorts and small backpacks got off the bus, recognized us as foreigners and asked " are y'all here to look at the beans, too?" We didn't have time to talk, unfortunately.
The subway in BA seemed like a haven for pickpockets and a taxi driver switched out my $100 peso note for a $10 and asked where the rest was. Luckily I had only told him the block to stop on and not the address, I walked away telling him I will be waiting on the corner for him when he comes with the police.
This was all in 2008, they have a new president and I understand things are "different" now. As always, it is very advantageous if you speak Spanish.
Not sure if this is any help. | |
