Durant EC Iowa | Not sure I can be of any solutions to your problems but I have been through that with my parents a few years ago. You have to do what's best for them. They are not capable of making those decisions. If you had to go to court they could most likely be declared incompetent. That's hard to bear.
Visit them often, enlist the help of staff members to help them adjust to living there and most of all be assured that they are being well cared for and that you do not have to worry about something happening to them and then second guessing yourself for not taking action sooner. We'll all be there someday. Best of luck.
Edit to add: it is really sad when they go into a home, it will likely be the last place they will be in their lifetime. They won't be leaving unless they die. Just the way it is. Fortunately you have a good place for her to go.
