s nd | Folks with dementia will sometimes have afternoon recall of their earlier years called sundowners (link below). They will want to go back to where they were raised and see their folks. You can sometimes talk them through their confusion without too much effort, other times not. You might even be told there is a conspiracy going on other interesting conversations. If they get too active they can be sedated to take off the edge. Seroquel is one I'm familiar with. They won't be zombies unless the degree of agitation requires higher doses or more powerful meds.
