| Problem is the state over allocated ground water pumping. My valley has had a moratorium on deep wells for close to 50 years now. However a lot of places in Idaho they were still drilling up until 5-7 years ago. I'm having to look at sprinklers now, 2/3 rds of my ground is flood. Surface water and deep wells is where my water comes from. My one water right goes back to 1907', then wells in the early 60's.
I'm one of the last flood irrigation in the valley. Only four of us left flooding, and yes it has affected domestic wells because of less flood irrigation in valley.
We have quite a federal government that pays to help put sprinklers in, then pays you to pump water back into ground to offset sprinklers. Talk about a face palm plant. A lot of ground should have never been plowed up in the last 25 years. Little did we learn, same thing happened in early 1900's to the 1930's. | |
