But it will never inconvenience you or cost you production. When the pipeline rots in 300 years the crude oil will seep into the soil and make a good spot if it’s shallow enough roots can get to it.
I’ve seen plenty of oilfield mishaps on farm land, but an explosion or salt water is the only thing I’ve seen guys loose any production over. And they are way better about making you happy with cash than the wind people. Oilfield has a oh crap we better fix this fast mentality. Green energy crew thinks they are above that.

Grandpa used to change the oil in the tractor by pulling the plug 30’ off the edge and plowing it in. There’s still some really good spots where he did that. Heck it’s probably a greener practice than whatever the recyclers do with it.
