North of London | My mother was that way, could hold a conversation for 5-10 minutes about the weather etc and then it started repeating.
After a visitor, a nice, left that she talked away to she more than once turned to me and asked who that was.
It only gets worse and when the weather talk is about how nice it is and it is snowing out you realize how mixed up they are.
Then it gets where you are not sure they know who you are either.
It is not easy but it happens to many and there is little to nothing that can be done about it except go with the flow.
Don't try to correct their errors and placate them the best you can.
Also know they are best in a protected environment where they are not likely to get outside on a cold night and not know how to get back in. | |
