| That's true, but incomplete. The flood plan from the 1950's was to use the interstate as a dike and route any flood waters through McCook lake. In those days it was just little fishing huts but over the last 25 years has been built up with quite a few newer and nicer homes. The area known as Dakota Dunes was spared, about 30 years ago they started building there, it was just trees and sand dunes prior to that. | |
