East of Broken Bow | I can remember from a few years back Jay Leno was commenting on some of the Superbikes you could buy on his TV show. Until then I never knew bikes would go that crazy fast.
He commented that California regulation dictated a rev limiter on the bikes, which slowed down a Hayabusa from its top speed of around 190 to a top speed of 186.
He joked at the time, if you could imagine someone at top speed T-boning a dump truck and the EMTs saying 'well it's sure a good thing he was only doing 186'.
This seems to be born out in the specs because up to 2000, they had top speed listed as 194, but in 2001 it was lowered to 186
