Bottom of the Mitten | It doesn't matter if you can't see it from the road, an online satellite image will show its there. If you or family members didn't misplace the missing items yourself they may have been seeing what's there to steal and planning coming back to wipe you out. Or maybe you have squatters living there and you don't know it
Edit: I agree with the other poster that mentioned some cameras. They're cheap and some you can watch from your phone from anywhere. Maybe an aggressive dog would be a deterrent
