Subject: RE: Is Deere Wrap worth the money??

Eastern NE KS
Jim and others,
I have a 2 spear bale mover. If placing a bale in a ring, I will drive to the ring bale stabbed normally, set it down re-stab with the one spear slightly (4-6") above middle and lift. I'm good if bale doesn't spin. Remove net off bale and place bale in ring.

Coveredge come off easily when not on the ground. My baler handling has been the same since 1978 and string. String removed easily when not on the ground too or inside a ring.

A few months ago I read of someone removing net or string while off the ground like I do. Not hardly. He had his spear so close to the top of the bale that once the wrap was loose the spear ripped thru the meager hay above it hold it up.

On the other hand, neighbors use edge to edge net with spool inserts to hold the roll centered in the baler. Spinners on each side pull the net just over the edge. When new, the bales are neat and tidy like full cover edge and these would be easier to remove the net when setting on their end compared to cover edge bales.
