Fontanelle, IA | I had maybe a little longer question for you, W1891, regarding timing of when “typical” prevent plant acreage is reported/incorporated into NASS/wasde reports. Intended /planted acres are reported on the June 30 acreage report but do all the pp acres come out in august or September typically? Has usda ever reported abandonments due to excessive flooding earlier than the Jan 10 final year crop report? Or, do “projected” abandonments basically come off harvested acreage earlier with the harvested percentage formula they use?
