My vote is for https://cap-chur.com/ mid-range pistol. Co2 shoots syringe, then when syringe hits animal a powdered 22. cap fire internally in syringe if you use the reusable aluminum syringe. They do have disposable syringe that shoots and fires with only Co2.

In needles on the aluminum I've found the 3/4" side port drop off needle to work the best for us. It has a couple of bumps on side on needle to help it retain in animal for a bit. All this can be carried in a hard plastic case that fits SxS and 4 wheelers good and trucks. We've had no problems in cold weather, just make sure to check Co2 cartridge before injecting animal. One tip is to coat needle with a little jelly lube to help needle fall out. Seems to help.
