| im in north iowa, not on a riverbottom or anything and overall ive lost at least 10% due to flat out flooding. the water goes down, but it killed what was in the pond, when the intakes are underwater, it was just too much water coming too fast and you cant tile for that. ive been all over on i-90 and there was ponds before the deluge the other day, corn was yellow ragged, a field here & there worked but not planted. this is a story, but one that wont be realized perhaps until the january report. then the traders with shrug their shoulders and say "huh, maybe we did buy corn a buck too cheap... oh well, record acres and record yield coming in 2025! take er down the limit!". | |
