| Farmingismyhobby - 6/27/2024 07:45 I saw that report, they really were pushing the probability of food inflation. Personally lost about 5%, and yes it's my better ground. When the rivers back up it doesn't matter how much tile you have in the ground.
What they're doing is prepping people for them to raise food prices in the grocery store.
Grain prices will remain flat or even go down but the lost crop acres will be what they blame the increased prices on. They won't blame it on their sudden increase in profit margin on products.
Oddly enough, the products that have the least amount of grain in them will be the products that go up in price the most. Meats (that consume lots of grain to produce) will not go up in price at all.
