Bought my wife a '17 Malibu with the 1.5 turbo 3 years ago. She has a leadfoot and it still averages over 30 mpg so I like that about it. Overall, I'm pleased with the vehicle, although I've heard these engines like to blow holes in the pistons. Ours has 130K on it now, only work I've done to it is brakes and I did have to replace the throttle pedal assembly.
