I like 12 foot. That’s wide enough to be able to do some sorting and bypassing an animal narrow enough to do it single-handedly. If you’re wanting to make it as narrow as possible, take it down to 30 inches however, you’ll regret that the absolute smallest I would go Would be 10’ and that’s only if it’s a necessity
