Subject: RE: Fan layout for 4 row freestall barn

We have three different configurations. Our oldest barn has 48" fans over the beds on the feed lane side of the head to head stalls. These are spaced 40' apart and angled down on the beds. we have another barn just like this at 36' spacings with 52" fans. We have another barn with 52"fans that are spaced at 24' and are staggered on opposite sides of the posts over the beds. This is in my opinion our best configuration. No matter the spacing I would stagger them. All are blowing from west to east length wise of the barn. Our thoughts have always been to move air on the beds to encourage stall usage. I will admit we have never tried turning any of these fans to move air cross ways.
