In 1996' I demo'ed a new MacDon 9200 windowed. Had 35 hours on meter. Dealer dropped it off in front of our shop, I got in it and idled it, turned header on. The driveline header flew apart. And dropped from tractor side. No penetration on the weld in yoke and shaft. I would have welded it, but I didn't own it, they warrantied it. We bought the windowed, only bad weld we had on machine.

Interesting story there. We had a driveline fail on our Mac Don 9352 and come right up and take out the windshield and side glass. My wife was running it............and was surprisingly calm when she called and told me what happened! I built a loop out of heavy pipe so it wouldn't happen again. The locking mechanism that holds the unit let the shaft slip off the splines last year.............and we got to test my improvised safety loop. It worked.........Yay!!!!!
