To late in northern Iowa. I was in Spencer last week for the IH show. I don’t think people grasp how widespread and severe this event is.


eh. I don't know about that. I think it was 88 that I planted beans behind a field of first cut alfalfa. It was so dry that we didn't plant it til it rained. The night of July 3rd, we got .75. Planted them on July 4th. Harvested 45 bushel and probably left 10 in the field because the old Deere platforms of those days wouldn't cut it any lower. There was no insurance consideration at that time either though. It would have been 36" rows at that time too. So its possible if that's what someone chooses.

Sorry. I was talking in general terms, not for those feet underwater. Not everyone is feet underwater, there are a lot of holes and such that possibly could be dealt with if people choose. Admittedly, it was an easier decision before insurance.
