Hmmm.. so Kansas will be the largest gainer in corn acreage up 550,000 acres.  It mostly must be dryland as the irrigated is usually more consistent.. so 85 to 185 bu potential.. more or less..

Washington up 40 k acres is the largest percentage gain. 





Washington is up because everything else is down. Potato contract acres cut, sweet corn and pea acres slashed, and a bunch of hay stacks on their way to celebrating their second birthday. The only thing that looked worth growing this spring was edible beans, and those contract acres got picked up quickly as guys that haven’t grown a bean in their lifetime are suddenly bean growers. The only options left were wheat and corn, and after mid April, it was too late to seed wheat.
