| Nope it's issued by USDA, same as the metal clip tags ID number your vet would have to install and manually install number into electronic records. As far as third party getting involved, that only happens if you want to age & source verify animals for ownership change or programs. Plus your giving them too much credit. I've personally had third party call me 6 months down the road asking me ownership of certain set of tags. They should have had first recording of numbers, they didn't have a clue if it was my number or not. | |
