If I were to start back up farming again today, which I I’m not, I’d buy a pair of the same machines, say 9770’s or 7010’s. Plenty around with 3000/2000 hours. Go completely through both from day one. One breaks down, have a spare to run in the interim. These machines have become pretty reasonable on auctions. Take the savings and buy top notch heads.
Have 3 of the same size combines, if something happens to one it gets parked till have time to fix when it rains. Last two that bought had 1000 and 1100 sep hours. One cost $85,000 other $90,000 |
