I assume that's the trifecta.. elevation.. or far enough north to skip the blast furnace conditions here.  Volcanic rich soils (??)  And Ditch water.. looks like a fabulous place to farm.

It’s a good area to farm, no doubt, but as such it’s not easy or cheap. Once the corn gets chest high and the I-state guys head for the lake, we still have water to run all summer. Around here when people talk about how hard it is to keep up with the Jones’, they mean it, since in addition to farming they have commercial retail space, their own wine label, and a helicopter.
